Louis Vuitton topped the 2013 annual BrandZ Top 100 list of luxury brands which was released on Wednesday.
BrandZ, a company which specializes in calculating the value and equity of different brands, ranked the 100 global luxury brands on their growth and social media accessibility, as well as their balance of exclusivity and inclusivity.
With luxury brands, the balance of exclusivity and inclusivity remains important because, as luxury entities, the exclusivity and mystique of the brand contribute to its desirability. At the same time, however, an atmosphere of inclusivity draws new customers in who will want to be associated with the brand.
Louis Vuitton, Hermés, and Gucci ranked in the top three spots of the list, while Fendi and Coach secured their first-ever top-ten spots. As social media continues to grow in importance, each of these exclusive brands must continue to find their own balance of social media presence.
